These Handmade Leather Clutches are one of my signature creations! The design was inspired by my experience with incarceration. Incarcerated Individuals look for mail daily and when the mail man passes their door without placing a piece on that slot it's daunting, depressing and dismal. It incites feelings of loneliness, neglect, isolation, and abandonment. While making a wallet the officer passed my cell door. I immediately thought of how it made me feel and started thinking of designs. I present to you, "The Letter" a reminder of that moment, that good people have fallen from grace, need our support and the importance of being and staying connected to society.
Here it is made with one of the hottest leathers being used for high end bags right now! It’s a high-quality split laminated with a antique silver pebble grain on top and a smooth waterproof poly on the back. Companies such as Coach, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and others are currently using this type of leather in their lines. I have seen women carrying bags made with this leather everywhere! I am sorry I forgot to tell you about the leathery smell.
Double looped with various colored lace along the edges, a Breast Cancer Ribbon Snap to support “awareness” [My wife was a two-time cancer survivor and the love of my life! She is in everything I create and please take notice that a portion of the proceeds will be donated to cancer research in her honor.] I designed and hand-stitched the Mission Grained Leather Interior* that holds; cell phone, cash, check book, documents, it also has a vinyl insert that holds; six (6) pictures, identification, business and/or credit cards, finally a compartment with a nickel bar snap enclosure for change, keys or small items. It measures 7 3/8” x 11 ½” open and 7 ¾” x 4” closed
